If you didn't know I work at a law firm here in Logan. It's a small firm with only 2 lawyers. I work as the Legal Assistant which means I answer phones, type up documents, mail everything, take things to the court...you get the point...oh and occasionally I do lawyer things, meaning creating documents which only someone who has actually gone to law school should do. And why do I do these sort of papers? It's because one lawyer likes to listen to terrible opera/Ozzie Ozborn, watch reruns of I love Lucy and play Farmville on facebook all at the same time. So of course he doesn't have any time to prepare these documents.
So here are just some thoughts from working at a law office:
-Don't make the father of your child do a drug test when the judge will also make you take the same drug test and you know your test will also come out positive
-If you don't want to be charged when asking a question to your lawyer just ask the secretary
-No your Mormon lawyer will not tell you when or how you will get your temple divorce
-No your Mormon lawyer will not counsel you in matters of sin, but he might just tell you to talk to your bishop
-Don't think just because you don't want to pay your garbage pick up bill does not mean you can sue the city you are living in
-If your neighbors tree limbs are growing onto your property maybe the best thing to do is to actually ask your neighbor if you can cut those limbs down that are on your side instead of going to a lawyer first
-If you want your wife to go into premature labor just sent her divorce papers when she is 8 and 3/4 months pregnant
-A father can get completely drunk then try to molest his 15 year old daughter, he is then sent to prison and after only 2 months can get out of prison because he wants a work release. While a woman who was raped and is now being stalked by the man who did it and his wife, will not be able to press charges because right after it happened she didn't get a test done and he is good friends with the police.
The last one makes me sad.... Sounds like an interesting job though!
