6 Months

So Rhett turned 6 months yesterday.
Funny how their first year you think about how many months they are.

So some things about the little man:
-Sucking on his toes especially in the bath could be his favorite thing.
-If he doesn't get a bath before bed it takes 3 times as long to get him to sleep no matter how tired he is, what can I say the boy likes to be clean
-He has recently discovered how to sit by himself without help and he likes it so much better then laying on his back
-Be careful if you hold him he may try very hard to pick your nose or scratch out your eyes
-He still sleeps through the night, except for the week he grows taller and the days we spend at grandma and grandpas house
-The bus is the most exciting thing in his mind especially when the bus stops and the blue lights go on and off
-His cheeks are ginormous
-He has become quite the acrobat and loves to go upside down

(I know it's a lot of pictures...)
He doesn't so much like to be on his tummy but I laid him in the bathroom before his bath so could go get something and when I came back in he had rolled over and didn't want to turn around. Apparently he likes laying on a cold floor naked.
Thanks Grandma for my new church clothes

Yes he owns his own bathrobe

"Memoirs of an LDS Therapist"

Let's face it we all know someone who suffers from an addiction. Most likely we all know someone maybe it's even yourself, your spouse, your child or your friend next door who suffers from a pornography addiction. But have you ever thought about what you would do when you actually discover this is going on? Or have you thought about how you will help your son, who starting in elementary school is being bombarded with pornography on a daily basis? One thing about sexual sin is you can't just use the Sunday School answer of simply "singing a hymn"  or just "stopping it" for a pornography addiction to go away. Spencer and I have been talking a lot about this subject mainly because he is now involved in a group called "Sons of Helaman." It is a pornography addiction group for teenage boys and those who have recently returned from a mission. Spencer has been wanting and needing experience to get into grad school next year so this is a great opportunity for him. He is wanting to go into addiction recovery or marriage and family therapy. So he will be going to meetings and working with bishops to educate them on this group so they know how to help the teenagers who have come to them. An LDS therapist has come up with this program on how to help people fight this addiction. He has studied pornography addiction for a long time and the church is actually looking into using his program to help missionaries out in the field. In order to work in the program (did I mention he also gets paid? It's very little money but it's something) Spencer had to go to Farmington where the creator of the program conducts his meetings. He said he was very surprised by how many young boys and how young the boys were that were in the session. Which even though the boys may have been caught doing things they shouldn't be doing, it goes to show how courageous those young teenage boys are to go to a therapy session and get help.

Go check out his blog: Memoirs of an LDS Therapist In order to help someone else you have to understand what they are thinking/feeling concerning their addiction. The therapist gives great tips and advice on what is going on in the addicts mind and what might be going on in yours, if you ever find yourself in the situation of needing to help someone. Also I think it's something we all need to be educated on because our world is getting worse and worse each day and we need to learn how to fight off Satan's tactics.

On another note, I have heard about a lot of parents lately who can't figure out why their 13 year old daughter won't wear clothes which actually consists of having fabric. Instead of wearing shirts that are now considered dresses, skirts that you fear for them to sit down in etc. And yet they continue to dress their younger girls in shirts with no sleeves, shorts that are way to short for anyone despite the age, and bikinis all summer long. And yet they wonder why only a couple years later this is what their daughter is wearing. Just a thought...

Lick

We put the little man in his high chair tonight for dinner and he couldn't stop sucking and licking the life out of his highchair
I can only imagine Rhett having this conversation with himself:

"Look guys there are peaches on my tray."

"Mom takes way to long to put the peaches in my mouth, so I might as well suck and lick on the tray."

"Yep, much faster to get it off the tray than to wait for the spoon!"

We knew he was a smart kid.

Guest Post

In response to my last post my sister Michele sent this note to me. I figured it needed to be posted in case someone wanted a ferret :

Hi--I enjoyed your last blog post. I'm doing Super Dooper Pooper too.
So you want a pot bellied pig huh. Have you researched them? I did a little research on them when I realized we couldn't get a ferret. They looked so fun and I actually considered it, but they like to charge kids so they can prove they are the #1 child of the family. They can grow up to 150 lbs. I could just see it charging my little Rebecca and decided it would be a bad idea. Now your Rhett looks tough--he could probably take the pig out, but just be careful ok.

"Super Duper Pooper" and The Fair

So my father asked me how I was doing yesterday when he called and I said "Super Great!" I then asked him how he was doing and to simply mock me he said, "Super Duper Pooper!" It's now going to be my new phrase, at the moment it's not copyrighted so you may use it too.

Last weekend we went to the fair, Rhett especially loved the cows and pigs and getting some soft serve ice-cream. Spencer and I also loved the animals and counting prego's and watching the inmates, sure glad those prisoners could also enjoy the fair it wouldn't be right if they didn't get a chance to go.

Ever since I was in third grade I have had an obsession with pigs...especially pot belly pigs. You see Pepperoni a pot belly pig visited us in school and since then I have had a vision that one day I too will own a pot belly pig. Don't worry Spencer agrees and now that Rhett has seen some giaganto pigs he now wants one!

Can one get any happier?!
See we told you he liked the cows

The Weekend

This past weekend a lot happened here are the highlights:
1. My cousin Diana got married. Besides the sealing ceremony and seeing all the family the best part was when chase said during his dinner speech, "well Diana said we needed to get this started because we have things to do tonight...um...that didn't come out the way I wanted it to...I mean we need to pack my car."
My cousin Jared "bleached" his eyebrows. Plus he brought his girl friend to every family function this weekend and somehow she is still dating him after all the scrutiny.

 2. Rhett turned 5 months old. He recently discovered his toes and loves to  pull on his left foot. He usually goes to bed around 8:00 or 8:30 and then will wake up between 7:30 or 8:00. He loves to be tickled, cuddled, eat pickles and sweet potatoes, go on walks, splash in the bathtub, clap his hands and talk as much as possible!

3. My cousin Preston had his mission farewell. My boys were both really tired on the car ride home

4. A new most eligible Pace bachelor was crowned. Preston reminded my father that their needed to be a new crowing since his brother Laron was crowned years ago and his now married with three kids. So my father had the single guys stand up in a line and everyone voted. Jared was crowned.

Jared was the only boy who voted for himself

Jared's girlfriend who survived the weekend
5. Those 2 are my cousin Laron's kids. Best sacrament meeting ever!
