6 Months
Weeks ago Adam turned 6 months old, did I post the pictures I took? Nope. So here they are weeks late. Also if you look at his eyes you might be inclined to call him "crazy eyes" as I have called numerous times. It looks like his left eye is lazy, I was a little excited that I would have someone in my family who would understand me since my left eye is still a little lazy after many tries to fix it. The pediatrician told me take Adam to the eye doctor because most likely he would need a patch on his eye to help his vision. Our eye doctor is our friend who served with Spencer on his mission. When he saw the schedule and saw that I was bringing in my 6 month old he said "oh no the kid got his mom's crazy eyes!" But luckily, Adam doesn't have a lazy eye and his eyes look really great. His problem is the shape of his eyes and his ginormous head which makes his eyes look cross eyed, when in fact his vision is straight. He'll grow out it eventually but for now its fun to call him crazy eyes.

My friend Bethany was baptized yesterday. I met her last September while dropping our kids off at school. The next week as a Relief Society presidency we went visiting. We had received new membership records for a person named Kellen, who for some weird reason one of us thought Kellen was a woman. We knocked on the door and Bethany answered. She said Kellen was her husband and he was a member but she wasn't. I immediately went into missionary mode and asked her if she'd ever wanted to know about the church and if we could send missionaries over. She said yeah sure they could come by. I went home that night telling Spencer how meeting this woman a week before was not a coincidence, how our kids were already friends was not a coincidence and that it was me that knocked on her door was not a coincidence. Then I got so excited and proclaimed how she was going to get baptized. Spencer had to calm me down. But last year was not the right time for her family. She started to have terrible pregnancy complications. So I got meals organized and they couldn't believe how complete strangers would bring her dinner for so long. The women in our ward rallied around this family without ever meeting them. Her baby was born in April and she asked Spencer to give him a blessing at church. When the missionaries came over I told them that now was the time. They knocked on her door, she set up an appointment when her husband could be there and then told them she wanted to be baptized! Those elders were so excited leaving that door step. Kellen stopped all his addictions, met with the Bishop so he could baptize his wife and started bringing his family to church. I am still amazed looking back at how Heavenly Father put everything in place. And so grateful that we got to see this family change. What a good spirit they have in their home! Miracles happen everyday!
