Our 24th of July this year was pretty darn great! While Spencer was off at work, Rhett and I walked in our neighborhood's Parley P. Pratt fun run, aka a 5k. I say since we did it in under an hour we did awesome! After the 5k, we headed to the parade. Luckily someone in our ward saw us and let us sit with them in the shade. Even though Rhett was so tired, he still danced and cheered every time there was music or the police drove by. By the way, in case you didn't already know... Rhett loves to dance. At night we headed to the park to watch the fireworks with our friends Stacey and Travis. We played games while Rhett got to know all the people around us. He made friends with some nice girls near by and randomly started to hug one of them. He then bent down and bit off part of her Twinkie. When it got dark, he wandered around everywhere. Spencer was nice enough to follow him. He joined a game of tag and again hugged another little girl. They wandered back to us just in time for the fireworks to start. Rhett oohed and aahed and wouldn't stop pointing at them. He decided that sitting on Travis' lap was the way to go so he could poke Stacey in the face, then he climbed down climbed on top of Stacey and gave her a hug. We've decided we need to watch this child with girls from now on.

Goodbye Salt Lake

We went down to Salt lake last weekend to officially say good bye to the place for a few years. We got to see lots of family, friends, the zoo, Dunkin Donuts, and Rhett got to play in a non cigarette infested beer smelling yard. It was fabulous. Thanks Mom and Dad for letting us come hang out with you for a few days.
This is what happens when a little boy decides to wake up at 4:00 in the morning, not go back to sleep, and then go to the zoo. And yes this is when we walked into the park.
Rhett loves animals! But he especially loves birds
I love Dunkin, but who doesn't? We ran out of money on my mission due to donuts and bagels from this place. So glad one opened up before we left. Rhett loved it too, he stood right in front of a lady in line, looked at her and started dancing.

July 4th Week

Here in Logan they have decided that Independence day is actually on the 3rd of July so that's when they shoot off the big fireworks, I think it's weird. We didn't know if we would be able to see the fireworks this year due to Rhett and his early bed time. But that afternoon he decided to take a 4 hour nap!! :) and by 8:00 p.m. he was ready to play. We were also a little worried that he would get scared by all the loud noises but he loved it! He loved the bright lights but he loved the helicopters that circled above us all night so much more.

On the 4th of July we had our annual neighborhood raise money for scout camp breakfast. I sat by some older people who only live in Logan for the Summers. One husband then showed up with a big brown bag and he pulled out a very large coffee pitcher he said "We've learned in all our years of coming to this thing that you have to bring your own coffee, and those Mormons don't even care!" His wife then told me that the breakfast was the #1 place to learn about local culture then any other place. I wondered how many first lessons they have heard since getting some pancakes each year. We then went to my cousins house, ate some good food, went swimming, and played some games.
A lunch full of Cheetos equals one happy kid
Rhett was very patriotic this year
On Saturday our friends decided to go on an adventure and we got in the car with them. It was a long drive for Rhett but if he had popcorn in his mouth then life was good. We went to Soda Springs Idaho and made our own soda out of the natural spring. It tasted AMAZING (or maybe not so much but it was so worth it). We watched Travis scream and jump when a snake was found, we got lost several times, had the smell of rotten egg in our nose due to the geyser, got sprayed by the geyser, found the greatest park with scary teeter totters, went to Bear Lake and of course ate some good shakes.

Coming For Christmas

So Rhett is going to be a big brother for Christmas this year, he doesn't quite know what to think of it yet.
