Festivities

We went to see the lights on Temple Square the day after Thanksgiving. It was warm and flowers were still blooming.

A mall in Salt Lake turned and tiny party of their building into a Harry Potter place. We waited in line for a good hour to get in. It was only worth standing in line because Rhett loves Harry Potter and Noah loves basketball (quiditch it basketball to Noah).

When you are 3 years old you do anything and everything to keep yourself entertained in the car while you wait for your brother to get out of school.
At our ward party they had the primary kids sing while Rhett's class performed the nativity. Rhett was a shepherd and Hope was so excited to sing while wearing her Anna dress.
Rhett's school was in the news this past week. He goes to a great school but 78% of the kids are living in the below poverty level. There is a group of pilots who deliver gifts and school supplies every year to one school. This year they chose us. They delivered 9,000 pounds of gifts and supplies! Plus Santa flew in on a helicopter.

Hope turns 4 on the 18th and she wanted to go play in Vernal for her birthday. In Vernal they do a free breakfast with Santa Claus, so we went to that and then when we walked out a fireman was letting all the kids climb in his truck. We were the last people to leave so he asked if we wanted to get in the bucket and go up 100 feet in the air. Of course we accepted. I can now check that off my bucket list it was awesome!

October

October was filled with lots of things like throwing away a hundred frozen green tomatoes from the garden, watching my pumpkins also freeze which meant my kids didn't get to sell any like they had wanted. But it was also full of many many Halloween parties (when you live in a small town they throw lots of parties), corn mazes, pumpkin painting, spooky houses and of course Hope's first dance recital.
Noah was so proud of himself when he finally got the soccer ball to stay on the tee
There is a family that decorates their house not just for Christmas but for Halloween. They have about 5 storage units on their property which holds decorations for both holidays.

Noah volunteered at story time. He looked so little

There are no words for this picture...but I sure love it!

We took our kids to a corn maze where they played in buckets of corn, jumped in bouncy houses, went on a wagon ride, tried to rope a steer, pumpkin bowled and got lost in some hay

Halloween included festivities for an entire week: brunch and lunch  and trick or treating at 2 grocery stores, ward party, an hour and a half of walking on main street collecting multiple pounds of candy and finally trick or treating around our neighborhood.

This kid knows how to do it right. Eat the candy while your parents push you around in the stroller to get you more candy.
One of the neighbors handed out stuffed animals. So while in between doors Noah was woofing.

Frozen, sad tomatoes

Sadly due to being frozen from the very early freeze many of these pumpkins became moldy in a few days

Noah and his dancing

When you take a Sunday nap and leave your children alone to color this is what your daughter will look like 2 weeks in a row!

Hope had her first dance recital. She was so excited! She twirls non stop at home. Grandma and Grandpa came to watch her which made her even more excited. Rhett had told her that only really good ballerinas get roses after their performance and Grandma brought her roses!
