One Year and Other Happenings

January 2011
January 2012
I know this post is a few weeks late...but oh well.
So we have officially been married for an entire year, LOTS have happened during one year But I am so happy to be married to my best friend. :)

Last Sunday we planned on having a few of my cousins who live here in Logan come over for dinner. But instead about 20 people ended up cramming themselves into our VERY small living room. It was Preston's birthday so everyone including 2 sets of aunts and uncles, most all of their children and my grandparents ended up showing up last minute. It was awesome! Thanks Preston for being born so everyone could come eat food, see/smell what elk pee smells like, learn how Preston's nickname growing up was Pee Pee simply because his name is Preston Pace (I think this name needs to come back) sorry Jessie and Natalie you can no longer name your baby boy a name which starts with the letter P, learning how my grandmothers bellybutton has always been a little weird, learn some amazing new songs from Madison age 3, and laughing for hours and hours (my poor neighbors!). It turned out way better then just having a few cousins come over. Sadly a picture should have been taken but it wasn't.

Again I have been asked to post a "belly shot" so here it is.

32 Weeks!

Little Gems I Found Today...

Today I was looking on a site for names for our baby since he will be in about 6 weeks maybe figuring out what we will call him might be a good idea. Well I just happen to come across this little gem of ideas...

So from http://www.parenting.com comes

"Ridiculous Parenting Products"

If you want to put your baby to sleep in a cardboard box, we've got several in the recycling bin -- plus we won't charge you $250+!
We can't help but get creeped out looking at these disembodied hands cradling a baby. Even worse -- they strike us as a blatant SIDS risk.
Does a baby really need bling? And does said bling have to go in her mouth? In fact, some bedazzled binkies have already been recalled, so definitely skip this one.
This tube is meant to act as a pee receptacle for potty training little boys so they don't spray the seat (or their shoes). We're not convinced that holding and then dumping a tube of your kid's pee is much more sanitary than just wiping down the toilet seat afterward. The makers say it also works as emergency toilet when you're on the go. Don't we have trees for that?
But I would have to say the best idea was:"Fun Things You Can Do With Your Baby's Placenta" Yes this is not a joke!

1. Craft A Teddy Bear

How could anyone ever forget the placenta teddy bear we previously featured? Almost 11,000 Inhabitots readers voted and deemed the not-so-cuddly ode to the organ "Barftastic!" Still, 732 of you deemed it "Adorable." To make this unique Teddy Bear, the placenta must be cut and cured with sea salt, and then made pliable with a tannin and egg mixture before transforming it into a one-of-a-kind teddy.

2. Make Placenta Art Prints

Art appreciation is subjective, and it's quite possible that only the rightful owners of these one-of-a-kind placenta art prints will truly appreciate them. The above image is from one mother's website featuring the masterpieces she created with her placenta. She aptly titles select paintings, 'Jellyfish' and 'Balloons,' given their similar shapes. She also gives precise instructions on how to make placenta art -- but it's not for the faint of heart. She explains, "You don't need to use paint to make the prints. There is enough blood in the placenta to make the prints... You may want to remove some remnants of the amniotic sac. Place the placenta on the paper with the side you want to print while holding the umbilical cord in one hand."

4. Paint Onesies and T-shirts with Placenta Blood

The dad behind the blog Thingamababy offers a humorous tutorial on How to Paint a Placenta Blood Shirt. Again, you'll be "pouring some blood into a bowl," so this isn't a craft for the squeamish. If this art project is your bag

2011

Yes that is a stuffed monkey for the angel.
First off here is our Christmas Tree.

New Years Eve was really nice this year, we went to the temple in the morning, played some card games (thanks to my mom for getting us new games), watched 2 movies and then watched the fireworks from our window. I pretty much think it's one the scariest pictures of us but we were both so tired!!!
For Christmas we went to my parents house in Salt Lake for a few days. I've decided Christmas should always be on Sunday, it just made it so much better. Spencer got me a great book from Elder Holland and some pretty awesome purple "Fun Socks" he's so good to me! My dad told us the story of when my parents made out for the first time, and when he had to milk cows during one Christmas break for a job but really it was just scraping the cow poop (I won't write the real word he said) off the cows, yup the milk was brown not white.

2011 I refer to it as one of those miracle years for me. So many things happened which made it possible for everything to be working out for us right now. Just for fun here's a recap:
*I married my best friend *my friend Courtney got me a job being a phlebotomist, and even though I would see two dots on someones arm instead of one to put the gigantic needle through and had one seizure at work I was able to puncture 100's of peoples arms to collect their plasma *We got health insurance through my job *Because of having health insurance through my job we can now be on a cobra plan meaning we didn't have to worry so much about health insurance when we moved (thanks Courtney for the job) *I finally got my medication regulated and only have 1 seizure a month, miracle right there *All of Spencer's school credits transferred to USU! *My dad found us an awesome place to live *I got pregnant and am due in 2 months even though most people who find out don't believe me *Even though we had signed a contract in St. George our landlords just let us leave with no problems and didn't even make us try to sell it to someone *Spencer took a spanish test and Aced it so that his GPA shot up *After only living in Logan for 2 weeks I got a job at a law office *My job gave me the flexibility to leave when ever I needed to get to the doctors *We met some really great friends *After stressing about grades this past semester Spencer did awesome on his finals *I have only thrown up twice due to being pregnant *After not being able to walk for 2 months finally a shot in my hip made things better *On the first day of the Christmas break Spencer was able to get a temp job at ICON making treadmills, he loves it so much ;) especially waking up at 4 a.m., coming home with cuts, bruises, and his hands swollen that they hurt a lot so if his other career options don't work out he now knows he can be a professional treadmill maker...It may be a really crappy job but it's a miracle that he got one so fast for the Christmas break *Our ward doorbell ditched lots of needed food, we love our Bishop and our ward *From being really blunt with our land lord we got them to drop our January rent in half, it's just for January but still

So looking at this year we have been extremely blessed! And can't thank our Heavenly Father enough for all that has happened. And thank you for being those angels we needed this year.
Bring on 2012 we are ready
