Caught up

Apparently I'm a once a month kind of "blogger" now. So here is to the month of December.
First, it was Hope's 4th Birthday. She wanted me to take lots of pictures of her in her dress she got from her friend (who is 16 years old) and she was so excited to have some friends over to play.

Hope had another dance recital.  She loves her dance class more than anything!
Santa came after the recital was over. All year Hope has been asking for a new play kitchen, but when Santa asked what she wanted she said "a toy alligator"...Santa just stared at her and then said "Well, how about a nice baby doll?" Hope just said "No, thank you."

It finally snowed the day after school got out for Christmas break. Rhett couldn't eat his breakfast fast enough so he could go play in it. All Hope wanted to do was eat the snow. She literally laid in the snow on her tummy and licked it. At first Noah just stood in the garage holding his snow shovel and stared at the snow. Finally I got him out in it but he still wouldn't touch it. But eventually he stepped in it and then he wouldn't get out of the snow.

She's not kissing the snowman...she's eating his nose

Nothing is better than when your dad doesn't have to go to work so he can pull you around on the sled.

Christmas Eve was great! We made all our kids have a photo shoot but let's be honest Hope had asked me yet again to take lots of pictures of her in her "Cinderella Christmas Dress."

Spencer was on-call for Christmas so on Christmas morning while Spencer went and did his work stuff for an hour I set up breakfast and a movie in our bedroom so the kids wouldn't see their presents until Spencer got home. It was the best thing we could have done. Everyone had breakfast and didn't just eat candy that morning plus Christmas morning lasted way longer than it ever would have. I think we are going to make it a tradition:  We liked it so much.

Noah has been obsessed with our broom so of course we got him his very own broom. He was so excited! As soon as he opened it, he ran straight for the kitchen. It's definitely the most played with toy from all 3 of our kids out of all their Christmas presents.

This was the little broom that came with his bigger broom. But to Noah, it is a hair brush
This year for the Pace Family New Year's Day Bowling Spencer was so close in beating my dad. He was only 5 points off but only because my dad got a 3 straight strikes in a row on the tenth frame. Noah was in heaven watching everyone bowl. He would sit there so nice and calm and then I'd tell him it was his turn and he jump up and skip to go push his ball down the lane.

Rhett had asked for a coconut for Christmas, but Santa can't find those things in Roosevelt. So Spencer found one when we were in Salt Lake. It took a while to figure out how to break it open. All of kids loved drinking out of it and then putting it on their heads.

What we look like after 8 hours in the court room.

We have made it to our 7 year wedding anniversary. Spencer sent me these flowers that Noah really wanted to hold. So what do you do for your 7 year anniversary? Well if you're us you would both be called up for Jury Duty for the same trial. We don't think that "random selection" works very well. Of course, Spencer didn't get on the jury because he may or may not have had clients in the room. But I was called up to be on the jury. However, we broke for lunch before the trial started and when we came back the defendant pleaded guilty and took a deal. Our judge was funny and told a great history of why we have juries while the lawyers figured out who they wanted on the jury. The judge had us tell a little about ourselves one guy said he didn't have kids since he had only been married a month, then he told us his hobbies. The judge replied by saying "well when you're ready to give up your hobbies... have some kids."
Rhett started to have his reflux throwing up issues again this year. So we for sure thought we'd spend a 3rd year in a row on our anniversary in the hospital with him. But luckily the meds worked this time and he was better shortly after taking them. So besides jury duty we went out to eat and then cleaned our church. It was definitely a memorable anniversary.

Happy Holidays everyone! We hope yours was just as exciting and crazy as ours was!
