Rhett turned 5...What! How is that even possible?!
Rhett is our creative child. One day he will be a famous author or illustrator. All day long he has a story running through his head. And all day long he is acting out that story. Lately it's been about super mice who sometimes are bad mice. He gets stuck on a certain movie and will act out the scenes. We have finally made it past Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and have moved on to Beauty and the Beast. Today Rhett found a pirate shirt, put it on, and declared he was Gaston. He then grabbed another toy and acted out a scene where Gaston admires his trophies. He made Hope be Belle. As they were playing, this conversation happened:
Rhett: "Belle, I love you! Marry me!"
Hope: "No, Gaston, I don't deserve you!!"
Rhett: "Ok, now Belle go to the Beasts Castle. It's where you have always wanted to go and where you will break the spell."
Hope: "No, I don't want to go! Noah is not the Beast; he is my father."
Rhett: "Mom, why did the Beast marry Belle? Gaston loved her, but he didn't get to marry her?"
Rhett loves to draw and his artwork is advanced for his age level. He doesn't just draw a circle with legs and arms sticking out like most preschoolers, but they have necks and bodies and clothes and he makes sure the girls have long eyelashes. Rhett has gone through a lot the past year with moving so many times and being hospitalized twice. We are really proud of who he is. He won't go to bed until we read him his scriptures. The other night I told him it was too late to read scriptures, he started to freak out a little bit, I asked him what was wrong and he said "we have to read scriptures Heavenly Father will be mad if we don't." We sure love him and all he teaches us.

Weeks before St. Patrick's day I told the kids that we could try to catch a leprechaun by setting some traps. So for days and days Rhett would make the same "trap" over and over again. So finally the night before they set their traps. They even put out notes on the traps to make sure the leprechauns would know where to find the traps.
Leprechauns came that night and turned our milk and pancake batter green. They tried to turn the toilet water green, but it didn't work. They also drew pictures on the mirrors and toilet lids. Hope ran into my room in the morning while I was getting ready "MOM MOM MOM THEY CAME!" She was so excited. Rhett announced "wow, they did it all by themselves!"
