Driving!

Well, we made it to Salt Lake City, Utah! More specifically, my brother's basement.
Two weeks before our move, Spencer was bringing some moving boxes to some friends and in their parking lot, he was hit by another car. The insurance decided the car was totaled since it took more money to fix it than it was worth. But in the end this became a blessing because the insurance company gave us way more money for the car then they probably should have.

Four days before we made a giant road trip we took a small trip down to New Orleans. It was filled with music, street performers, boats, streets filled with the smell of alcohol, and of course beignets (which was the whole reason we needed to make one last trip to Nawlins.) Our kids were so excited about the music and the boats and the street performer only wearing a very small loincloth.

My dad was amazing! He flew in on Saturday and on Monday morning we headed on our 3 day trek across the country. The first day we drove 8 hours and day two and day three were both 12 hour driving days. Our kids were amazing! Hope is not a very good child in short car rides but for some reason 12 hour days just didn't faze her.

Most days looked like this one. Where Rhett was passed out for a few hours and Hope was wide awake singing, eating her shoes, putting her blanket over herself pretending to be a ghost and overall just being silly. 

 The first hotel night our kids were so excited to sleep at a hotel. It had been a long day and they passed out really fast. The next night was a different story.

I have always wanted to go to Scotland, well we made it! Sure it's Scotland Texas but who's counting.

 So now the plan is to find Spencer a job. We have a few really good leads so hopefully in the next few weeks one will hire him and we can move on to another phase in life.
