Sunday's are always adventurous... Don't you agree?
Last Sunday before church we were sitting in our living room reading while Rhett was walking around and around the couches with a pen in his hand until he started crying! We couldn't figure out what was wrong, but he had obviously hurt himself. It was only 30 seconds later he was fine and started wrestling on the floor. When we got to church we noticed his right eye was blood red around the white part of his eye and it had a bump on it. Mystery solved: Rhett was screaming because he decided stabbing himself in the eye would be a good idea. Luckily no clear fluid came out his eye and he didn't stab the colored part which means no damage was done (we think) and today his eye is looking much better. So many people at church came up to me asking if he had hit his eye with something... Yeah, it was that noticeable.
Sunday night there was a fireside for all the adults in our stake. Funniest fireside I have ever been to and probably will ever go to. He talked about knowing our true identity, knowing what it means to be children of God. He also talked about how it's ok to struggle with your children because that is how you are learning to be a god. Anyway everyone laughed a lot through the whole thing except for the end when the speaker was talking about when Christ was in Gethsemane, the whole room was silent except for Rhett who was spitting very loudly in my face. I said to him "no more spitting" and then covered his mouth. Well, that did it. It was late and Rhett was very giddy and by that action of covering his mouth he started to laugh uncontrollably. Which made me laugh which in turn made him laugh even harder which made people around us start laughing, again during the most spiritual part of the whole night. Rhett was laughing so hard he couldn't breath so I had to take him out in the hall. Afterwards people came up to us asking if we had the kid with the funny laugh. One guy even told me that Rhett was a smart child because he could entertain himself and laugh at the spur of the moment for an hour and a half while most kids his age would have gotten fussy and started crying. We're glad Rhett was the entertainment for all those sitting around us.
